Rick Hughes’ Approach to WSF Woes: Fix San Juans’ Service by Fixing Entire System
A CNL2 VIDEO IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE
Rick Hughes is a candidate for San Juan County Council residency district 2, a position he held for two terms in the 2010’s.
During his previous tenure on the Council, transportation was a top priority. He made many connections with leadership in Washington State Ferries (WSF), as well as colleagues in neighboring County Councils and various regional transportation committees.
Today, on “Hey What’s Going on Around Here,” with CNL2’s Jeff Noedel and Heather Spaulding, editor of the Journal of the San Juan Islands, Rick shared his view that San Juan County will get the best results if it keeps pressure on WSF, but also if the council works through top managers at the agency to improve service across every route in the WSF system.
When it comes to improving service at WSF, Rick believes “a rising tide lifts all boats.”
This CNL2 video is approximately 33 minutes in duration.
