A CNL2 VIDEO IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE

Here is part 2 (of 2) from last week’s interview of Kari McVeigh, candidate for San Juan County Council, resident district 1.

Kari shares that the number one issue that voters are asking about is the County budget. She says people are worried about “a budget cliff,” and the budget “blowing up.”

She said another common thread among voters is frustration with the County’s planning and permitting services.

At 10:00 minutes into the interview, Kari speaks about the next County Manager, Jessica Hudson.

(12:45) The conversation turns to the County lawsuit against the Town of Friday Harbor over the County’s use of water at the fairgrounds.

Kari pledged, if elected, to attend every Town Council that she can attend, so she can be seen and be accessible to Town leaders.

(17:00) She discusses the impending ribbon-cutting ceremony for new teacher housing on Shaw Island.

(19:00) Kari is asked what it’s like to run for public office for the first time.

This CNL2 video is approximately 23-3/4 minutes in duration
