At 5:09 a.m. today — Monday, August 12, 2024 — a send button was hit that sent the application for tax-exempt 501(c)(3) recognition with the IRS.
The IRS advises us to wait six months to hear their decision. Others who have been through the process lately say it might be closer to three months.
Whether one donates now in anticipation that 2024 donations being tax deductible, or waits, please know we have filed. For major donations, consult your advisor.
To date, approximately $11,000 in donations have been received in 2024. Those donations helped us survive this very lean period as a nascent non-profit.
