From the World of Science to The World of Art: Amanda Azous’ Paintings Please

CNL2 VIDEO IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS ARTICLE

Abstract oil paintings entitled “Sunrise Over Waterfall,” “Journey,” and “Sunrise Over the Lake” and other creations in her “Light Enlightens” series can be seen in person at the “Light Enlightens” exhibition at the San Juan Community Theatre. The exhibition runs from April 3rd through April 30th. A reception will be held tonight, April 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

After impressive careers in aerospace engineering (where she held a U.S. Government security clearance) to wetlands research and environmental consulting, Amanda Azous‘ retirement life changed when two classes at Alchemy Art Center “opened up a whole new life” for her.

In a few short years, Amanda — still thinking like a scientist — is applying her knowledge of composition, colors, and her understanding of Earth and Earth processes to paint on canvas with wonderful results.

This CNL2 video is approximately 19 minutes in duration.
