FOLLOWING IS A STATEMENT ISSUED BY RICK HUGHES
Thank you, San Juan County, for providing me the opportunity to serve our great county and amazing residents from 2013-2020; it was truly one of the highlights of my life. I had hoped for a chance to serve our county again, and although I’m disappointed that I won’t have the opportunity to implement the ideas I presented during my campaign, I remain optimistic for all of us and hope to support the community in other ways in the coming years.
Congratulations to Kari (McVeigh) and Justin (Paulsen) for your impressive victories. I wish you both the best in the years to come. You have a hard path ahead, and if I can ever help or add any value, please feel free to reach out. I love San Juan County more than anything and want you both to succeed for the sake of all of us and future generations.
Special thanks to all the people who supported me throughout this campaign, your backing meant a great deal. Much appreciation goes to my team, Ayn & Sam Gailey, Paul Huber, Kevin Ranker, Steve Ulvi, Amanda Azous, Gretchan Krampf, Richard Fralick, Kathleen Lunde, Gus Ringo, Molly Troxel, Darby Wright, Ricky Hughes, Rick and Marge McCoy, Vicki ad Dan, Kevin and many more.
Thank you to Adrian (Kilpatrick), Johnnie (Welch), and Stephanie (O’Day)—you all made this a better campaign and forced more creative approaches to complex issues.
Best wishes to the new council and a successful next four years.
