Cindy Wolf is 7/8ths into her four year term as San Juan County Council Representative, residency district 2 (Orcas). In this three-part interview, Cindy reflects on her term so far and her hopes for the next Council that will take office in January. She frankly and openly discusses key issues facing the County including planning, ferries, affordable housing, and environmental stewardship / climate resilience.

The interview begins with Cindy explaining the major action the Council took the previous day in streamlining the service providing by the County’s Department of Community Development (DCD).

She starts with the sober and unfortunate news that five County employees lost their jobs in the outsourcing of key planning and permitting functions.

The conversation evolved into her excitement and anticipation of the new County Manager Jessica Hudson, who starts on the job Monday (July 15, 2024).

At 9:00 minutes into the interview, Cindy is asked what her biggest achievements in her term have been, so far.

(14:00) Cindy is asked if being a San Juan County Council Representative is what she expected it to be four years ago, before she took office.
