FOLLOWING IS A STATEMENT BY ORCAS ISLAND FIRE & RESCUE
The Orcas Island Board of Fire Commissioners requests citizen input.
On December 2nd, OIFR Commissioners discussed potential processes for hiring our next permanent Fire Chief. As a part of this important work, the board would like community input on the search process, characteristics of the ideal chief, and experience needed in our next Chief.
You can share your thoughts in the following ways (additional opportunities will be determined at a later date).
Provide public comment.
- December 16 at 3:00 p.m. (in person at Station 21 or via Zoom) at the start of the Regular Board Meeting
- December 16 at 5:30 p.m. (in person at Station 21 or via Zoom) during a second public comment period dedicated to the Fire Chief search
