BREAKING NEWS: Kari McVeigh elected County Council Chair for 2025

Following a tradition of rotating the County Council chair position among the three “residency districts” in San Juan County, Kari McVeigh (District 1, including San Juan Island) has been unanimously elected Chairperson of the County Council. She was nominated by Jane Fuller (District 3, including Lopez Island).
The chair position was held in 2024 by Jane Fuller.
Justin Paulsen (District 2, including Orcas Island) nominated Fuller as Vice-Chair, and she was unanimously elected.
